What makes the Dearist Sea Buckthorn & Calendula Oil different?

Dearist Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil uses CO2-extracted Sea Buckthorn Berry Pulp, which retains more nutrients like Omega-7 and carotenoids compared to cold-pressed versions. These nutrients boost collagen, heal skin, and fight wrinkles. We’ve also added Calendula for calming and Wheat Germ oil for a Vitamin E boost.

Help! My skin looks a little orange when I use it. What should I do?

The reddish tint is due to its high beta-carotene (natural vitamin A precursor), an antioxidant that may temporarily stain skin but protect the skin from free radical damage. To minimise the temporary tint, you can either blend the Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula oil in thoroughly or mix it with aloe vera gel/moisturiser/other facial oils for a soothing and less pigmented application.

Can Dearist Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil be used on all skin types?

Yes! The ingredients used in the formula are non-comedogenic, making it suitable for oily and acne-prone skin as well. According to a study, “Sea buckthorn oil is also appropriate in care of dry, irritated (e.g. after sunbathing), rough, flaking and itchy skin. The oil is used as a soothing agent after cosmetic procedures e.g. peelings, baths, masks, hair removal,” making it safe and beneficial for sensitised skin. However, it is always best to patch test before using.

Why does Dearist Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil have a strong scent?

The oil has a natural pickle-like scent that comes from sea buckthorn berry. We avoid artificial fragrances to keep it pure, like a fine wine—an acquired but rewarding scent.

Is Dearist Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

All our products are formulated with ingredients that are safe to use for pregnancy and postpartum, but we recommend consulting your healthcare provider or dermatologist. Always patch test to rule out sensitivities or allergies.

Is it safe for acne-prone oily skin?

The ingredients used in the formula are non-comedogenic, so they won’t clog pores. This makes it suitable for oily and acne-prone skin, however, every skin type is different and is it always recommended to patch test. Sea Buckthorn Berry Pulp Oil contains a high content of Omega 7 which is known to help with acne scars. 

“Linolic acid found in sea-buckthorn oil plays a significant role in skin. It strengthens the lipid barrier of the epidermis in dry skin and protects against transepidermal water loss. Additionally, LA regulates skin metabolism [3, 14, 15, 68–70]. Linolic acid is also a natural component of sebum. It is usually said not to use oils for oily skin, what makes this oil different?

Dearist Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil contains 75% Sea Buckthorn Berry Pulp Extract Oil, which balances sebum and hydrates skin with non-comedogenic properties. Calendula soothes, while Caprylic Capric Triglyceride (from coconut oil) and Heptyl Undecylenate (from castor oil) work well for oily skin. The ingredients in this oil helps with regulating natural oil levels, supporting the skin barrier, and is generally safe for sensitive and acne-prone skin. We recommend patch testing before full use.

Does Dearist Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil help with acne scars?

Regular use of Dearist Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil may help in fading acne scars due to the omega-7 present in the oil. “In particular, it should be noted that this oil contains rare palmitoleic acid (omega-7) which is a component of skin lipids and stimulates regenerative processes in the epidermis and wound healing. Why have you added Caprylic Capric Triglyceride and Heptyl Undecylenate?

Facial oils can feel heavy and sit on the surface, especially in warm, humid weather. However, Caprylic Capric Triglyceride and Heptyl Undecylenate are non-comedogenic ingredients that thin the oil and enhance absorption into the skin

  4. Rinse off 
  5. Continue your regular AM or PM skincare routine, depending on time of day 

Option 2:

  1. Cleanse your face and pat dry.
  2. Make a fresh fruit mask: mashed fruit, yogurt and honey mask (ex: mashed papaya, 1 tbsp of yogurt, 1 tsp of honey, mix them together)
  3. Add 1 full squeeze of Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil to the mask and mix well.
  4. Apply on your face and neck, leave it on for 20 minutes 
  5. Rinse off 
  6. Continue your regular AM or PM skincare routine, depending on time of day

Avoid contact with eyes, if contact occurs, rinse with cool water. Store in a cool, dry place. Patch test recommended.

How to recycle and repurpose?

Rinse out your glass bottle, then put it in your designated recycling bin for glass. Please recycle paper packaging by ensuring it is clean and dry. Remove any non-recyclable components before placing it in your recycling bin. 

Give your bottles a new life! Simply wash them with soapy water, a vinegar and water mix, or an alcohol solution. Let them dry completely. These versatile bottles are perfect for refilling with your favourite beauty products for travel. Alternatively, you could remove the glass dropper, and use the airtight containers to store spices, herbs and tinctures.

Facial Oil

Apply 2-3 drops of Dearist Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil on cleansed and damp skin.

Lip Oil

Apply 1 drop of Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil to clean, damp lips.

Under-Eye Oil

Apply 1 drop of Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil to your fingers and gently dab and massage around the under-eye area. Alternatively, add 1 drop of Sea Buckthorn Berry & Calendula Oil to your eye cream and apply as usual.

Eyebrow Oil
