We are sourcing our ghee from a Certified Humane dairy in India.

At Dearist, we believe that the true value of ghee doesn’t lie in marketing buzzwords, but in the quality of the milk, the wellbeing of the cows, and the care taken during production.

Some brands focus on whether their ghee is A2 or not. But here’s the truth: ghee is almost entirely pure fat, and during clarification, the milk solids, where proteins like A1 and A2 reside are removed. What truly matters is the source of the milk and how the ghee is made.

Our ghee is made from full-fat, single-origin milk sourced from free-grazing, injection-free cows raised on a small, ethical farm. These cows are treated with respect, no hormones, no antibiotics, open pasture, clean water, and expert care. Happy cows make better milk. And better milk makes better ghee.

You might have heard about traditional methods like the bilona process using clay pots and wooden churners. While it is the best method,it’s not always practical or hygienic at scale. Clay pots are often glazed (which defeats their purpose) or hard to sanitize properly [of course, there are dairy farms that do follow all protocols]. Wooden churners can harbor bacteria if not maintained with extreme care. That’s why our partner dairy uses stainless steel equipment, ensuring that the ghee remains untouched by hand and free from contamination while still respecting the slow, traditional method of clarification.

Why choose Dearist Ghee:

  • Made from full-fat, single-origin milk

  • From free-grazing, hormone-free, antibiotic-free cows

  • Produced in a certified clean, stainless steel facility

  • Hand-free process ensures top-tier hygiene

  • Rich, aromatic ghee with no preservatives, no shortcuts

We’ve choosen transparency over tradition-for-tradition’s-sake, and ethics over empty claims. This is what ghee should be — clean, nourishing, and made with care from farm to jar.

Internally: An excellent high-heat cooking oil alternative, ideal for everyday use, especially in tropical climates. Recommended to have 1 tbsp in hot water/black coffee in the morning if following a "fat first" routine.

Ghee contains small amounts of naturally occurring omega-3s, thanks to milk from pasture-raised cows fed on a grass-rich diet. While not a primary source, it’s a nourishing addition to a balanced, whole-food lifestyle to lower inflammation.

External Usage: Dearist Ghee can double as a lip mask or blend into your hair oil. Our founder’s mother, Riddhi, even uses it to gently massage dry skin, though it’s not recommended for acne-prone skin.

How to Recycle and Repurpose?

Rinse out your glass bottle, then put it in your designated recycling bin for glass. Please recycle paper packaging by ensuring it is clean and dry. Remove any non-recyclable components before placing it in your recycling bin.

Give your bottles a new life! Simply wash them with soapy water, a vinegar and water mix, or an alcohol solution. Let them dry completely. These glass bottles are perfect for refilling with bulk liquids such as oils, vinegars, or homemade cleaning solutions. Alternatively, they make excellent water bottles or vases for fresh flowers, adding a sustainable touch to your home decor.

FAQs
Is your ghee A2?

A2 Ghee is nothing but a marketing gimmick. While we don’t label our ghee as A2, it’s important to know that during the clarification process, most milk proteins, including A1 and A2, are removed, thats why most people who are lactose intolerant are able to tolerate ghee [there are no dairy proteins left!]. What matters more is that our ghee comes from healthy, injection-free cows raised with care on open pastures.

Dearist Ghee lactose and casein free?

Ghee is almost entirely pure fat, and most of the lactose and casein are removed during preparation. While trace amounts may remain, our ghee is generally well-tolerated by people with dairy sensitivities (though not suitable for those with severe dairy allergies).

Do you use the bilona method or earthen pots?

We respect traditional methods but prioritize hygiene and safety. Bilona and clay pots are great in small-batch home settings where hygiene can be monitored but can be unsanitary at scale. That’s why our ghee is made using stainless steel equipment, ensuring a clean, consistent, and hand-free process.

Is your ghee shelf-stable?

Yes. Ghee is shelf-stable and doesn’t require refrigeration. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and always use a clean, dry spoon.
