We are sourcing our ghee from a Certified Humane dairy in India.
At Dearist, we believe that the true value of ghee doesn’t lie in marketing buzzwords, but in the quality of the milk, the wellbeing of the cows, and the care taken during production.
Some brands focus on whether their ghee is A2 or not. But here’s the truth: ghee is almost entirely pure fat, and during clarification, the milk solids, where proteins like A1 and A2 reside are removed. What truly matters is the source of the milk and how the ghee is made.
Our ghee is made from full-fat, single-origin milk sourced from free-grazing, injection-free cows raised on a small, ethical farm. These cows are treated with respect, no hormones, no antibiotics, open pasture, clean water, and expert care. Happy cows make better milk. And better milk makes better ghee.
You might have heard about traditional methods like the bilona process using clay pots and wooden churners. While it is the best method,it’s not always practical or hygienic at scale. Clay pots are often glazed (which defeats their purpose) or hard to sanitize properly [of course, there are dairy farms that do follow all protocols]. Wooden churners can harbor bacteria if not maintained with extreme care. That’s why our partner dairy uses stainless steel equipment, ensuring that the ghee remains untouched by hand and free from contamination while still respecting the slow, traditional method of clarification.

Internally: An excellent high-heat cooking oil alternative, ideal for everyday use, especially in tropical climates. Recommended to have 1 tbsp in hot water/black coffee in the morning if following a "fat first" routine.
Ghee contains small amounts of naturally occurring omega-3s, thanks to milk from pasture-raised cows fed on a grass-rich diet. While not a primary source, it’s a nourishing addition to a balanced, whole-food lifestyle to lower inflammation.
External Usage: Dearist Ghee can double as a lip mask or blend into your hair oil. Our founder’s mother, Riddhi, even uses it to gently massage dry skin, though it’s not recommended for acne-prone skin.
